미래희망기구의 소식 입니다.
교육 3일 차에는 젠더, 노동, 기후, 평화라는 주제를 중심으로, 지속가능한 사회를 이루는 핵심 가치들이 어떻게 서로 연결되어 있는지를 살펴보는 시간이 마련되었습니다. 학생들은 인권과 발전, 경제와 평화가 분리된 의제가 아니라, 상호 의존적인 구조 속에서 함께 다뤄져야 한다는 점을 이해할 수 있었습니다.
Day 3 | January 9
Ms. An addressed SDG 5 (Gender Equality) and Gender-Based Violence (GBV), explaining why gender issues remain a core agenda for the international community. By examining cases of technology-facilitated GBV that have evolved alongside advances in science and the widespread use of social media, she helped students understand gender equality not as an individual concern, but as a structural and essential human rights issue.
Arnaud Debauge 연사님 유엔이 기후변화 문제에 어떻게 대응해 왔는지를 역사적 흐름 속에서 짚으며, 기후변화로 인해 나타나는 자연재해의 사례를 짚어주셨습니다. 특히, 실질적인 정책과 행동이 연결되어야 함을 강조하시며 유엔개발계획(UNDP)의 역할과 서울정책센터의 사례에 대해서도 소개해주셨습니다. 실제 사무소의 최윤서, 이지원 인턴이 함께해주셨답니다.
Mr. Arnaud traced how the United Nations has responded to climate change within a historical context, highlighting concrete examples of natural disasters intensified by climate change. Emphasizing that climate action must translate into tangible policies and concrete actions, he introduced the role of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and shared practical cases from the UNDP Seoul Policy Centre. The session was further enriched by the participation of Ms. Choi Yoonseo and Ms. Lee Jiwon, interns at the Seoul Policy Centre, who joined the discussion.
Dr. Ken Shawa는 SDG 8(양질의 일자리와 경제 성장)을 중심으로, 왜 ‘좋은 일자리’가 지속가능한 경제 성장의 핵심 요소인지를 설명해주셨습니다. 특히 '좋은 일자리'의 조건이 무엇이며, 이러한 조건을 만족하지 않으면 어떠한 경제 효과를 불러일으키는지에 대해서 연결지어 소개해주셨습니다. 청년 취업률과 사회적 발전 간의 연관성을 짚어주신 덕분, 학생들의 활발한 토론과 깊이 있는 질의응답이 이어졌습니다.
Dr. Ken Shawa focused on SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), explaining why “decent work” is a core pillar of sustainable economic development. He clearly outlined the conditions that define decent work, and examined the economic and social consequences that may arise when these conditions are not met. By highlighting the link between youth employment and broader social development, the session prompted lively discussions and in-depth questions from the students.
Deepayan Basu Ray 소장님께서는 군축과 평화 구축을 주제로 하여 무기 감축이 단순한 기술적 조치를 넘어 국가 간 신뢰와 협력의 문제임을 강조해주셨습니다. 특히 국제사회 곳곳에서 발생하는 분쟁을 줄이고 보다 지속가능한 평화를 구축하기 위해서는 어떤 조건과 과정이 필요한지를 설명해주셨습니다. 학생들은 한반도 평화를 비롯해 국제사회의 협력을 통해 진정한 의미의 '지속가능한 평화'를 형성하기 위해 깊이 성찰하는 시간을 가졌습니다.
Mr. Deepayan Basu Ray addressed disarmament and peacebuilding, emphasizing that arms reduction goes beyond technical measures and is fundamentally a political and diplomatic process grounded in trust and cooperation among states. He outlined the conditions and step-by-step processes required to reduce conflicts and build more sustainable peace across the international community. Through discussions on various global cases, including the Korean Peninsula, students were encouraged to reflect deeply on how sustainable peace can be achieved through international cooperation.
